Alterations Special Occasion wear is NOT MADE TO MEASURE; they are cut to a size on each designer's sizing chart and are not consistent with ready-to-wear sizing. Each gown is standard size and standard length. Almost every Special Occasion gown requires some form of alterations. A local seamstress will be able to do the alterations for you. All gowns including fully beaded gowns may be hemmed, taken in at the side seams, or at the back. Often gowns must have the straps shortened to fit properly. If you or your seamstress has any questions regarding alterations, please call or email us, and we will help.
Availability The Reflections staff will not know availability of a certain style until after you place an order. Availability changes minute by minute. A staff member from Reflections has to check inventory with the designer, take into consideration shipping time from the designer to us and from us to you, and know your exact wear date to make sure your item(s) arrive in timely fashion to you. We must have a purchase order from you to place the order with the designer to make sure your purchase arrives before your wear date. During our peak prom season (January through June) a difference of a few minutes to an hour can make the difference in whether or not you will get your gown in time for your wear date. You may place your order for the gown you have selected, if the gown you selected is not available by your wear date your credit card will not be charged. Remember we can't check availability by email you must first place the order.
If your selection is not available by your wear date we will contact you via email to inform you item is not available. We will also inform you if there may be a size up, size down, or other colors available in the style you selected. At this point your order is considered "Not Available" and your credit card has never been charged.
Can you make the gown in a different color? No sorry we can't, we are the retailer not the manufacturer. The gown only come in the colors listed on the website.
Can you send me a catalog? We do a ONE time catalog mailing of The Cool Book; when this mailing is completed we have NO more catalogs to mail out that is why we created an online catalog that shows almost every gown we carry. The online catalog is MORE complete than The Cool Book. We DO NOT have a bridal catalog. We have put online the pictures of all the gowns available at our physical location. The pictures on our website are all the pictures available that the designer has provided.
Do you have a store near me? Our ONLY retail location is located at 141 S. Carlton Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
How do I place an order? You click on the "Add To Cart" link while browsing through the product gallery. A new window will open and ask you to select the color and size. There is a size chart and measuring information at the bottom of that window. After you have made your selection, click the "Add To Cart" button, and your item will be added to your cart. When you have completed all your purchasing and you are ready to checkout, just click the "View Cart" link on the right hand side of any page on the site.
I have emailed you and you have not responded, why? If you have tried to email us in the past and have not received a reply, your ISP or e-mail client may be blocking e-mail from reflectionsva.com. If you believe this is happening, please check the help section of your email program to determine how to lower or remove the settings that filter or block mail. Once you have determined that you should be able to receive mail from us, please contact us again with your questions.
I have now ordered, what happens next? After you place your order, in the next few BUSINESS hours (Monday through Friday), a staff member of Reflections will check with the designer to see if your selection is available by your wear date. If your selection is available by your wear date, we will email you with an approximate shipping date.
I would like a picture of a gown in a different color? All of the pictures we have available to us are shown on our website. These pictures are the ad shots from the designers. Sorry, we do not have pictures of each gown in all the different colors. If you have a question as to what a particular color is go to the "Pre-Sales Question" link on the gown detail page and we will respond to your question.
Lowest Price Guarantee If you find a lower price online, we will not only match the price we will beat the price by 4%. If you have already purchased a gown from us and find a lower price in the next 5 days, we will refund the difference plus 4% to your credit card or Pay Pal account. Other sites that charge shipping will have the shipping cost included in the cost of the merchandise .
The advertised price must be online and the staff at Reflections must be able to see it. This guarantee does not apply to any gown marked "Sale", "Clearance", "Special", or "Auction" and the website must be an official retailer of the designer.

Return Policy Reflections special orders your merchandise (gown, shoes, jewelry) in the size and color of your choice. Almost every Special Occasion retail salon (including Reflections) has a NO refund/return/exchange policy for several reasons.
You are doing your measurements and choosing your size. We have no control over the size you select; size charts are located on each page of every gown on our website. You may also view a copy of our "Measuring Instructions". If you have any questions as to the correct size you need, feel free to call us at 540-432-8700. Your Special Occasion wear is being ordered in the size and color of your choice and we can not return it to the designer.
Bridal, bridesmaid and formal gowns are Special Occasion wear (meaning you only wear it one or two times) and some people would want to wear the gown and return it after they have worn it.
Our no refund/return/exchange policy is the same at our retail salon as well as our online store. This no return/refund/exchange policy is the policy of most retail stores and online stores. If any other retailer tells you differently please check the fine print of their Special Order Policy. Please be aware of the policy before placing any order.
When your special order arrives at our salon from the designer, a staff member from Reflections will inspect the gown to determined it is the size, style and color ordered and will be inspected for any defects; if a defect is found it will be returned to the designer for a replacement. The gown will be returned to the designer BEFORE it comes to you. If a designer defect is not detected by our staff during the inspection process, it can be returned for REPLACEMENT only. If the gown is damaged during shipment, we will replace the gown with expedited shipment at our cost. If you receive a damaged gown, you must call 540432-8700 within 24 hours of receiving the item for a return authorization (RA) number. NO items will be accepted by our receiving department without a RA number.
Shipping For all US Customers shipping is free in the Continental US via UPS and USPS.
- Prom, Pageant and other formal wear- Shipment is between 2 to 12 weeks depending on availability
- Bridesmaid and bridal gowns- Shipment is between 4 to 16 weeks depending on availability
- Sometimes, to get your gown to you in time, we will need to expedite shipping. If this is necessary, we will contact you before processing your order and charging your credit card

Wear Date Please be accurate concerning your wear date. You will know within a few business hours (Monday through Friday) if your selection is available. If you have chosen a popular style the gown may have to be back ordered from the designer. If this is necessary, we will determine the fastest way to get your selection and fill your order by your "Wear Date" (The date you will be wearing your selection). We will not charge your credit card if your selection will not be to you at least one week before your event. If the ship date is closer than two weeks to your event we will contact you concerning upgrading of shipment and estimated ship dates. You then decide whether or not to continue with the order.
When is my credit card charged? Your credit card will be charged after a staff member at Reflections has contacted the designer and we know your purchase can be shipped to you prior to your wear date.
Why are your gowns less expensive?
By offering the gowns online we can reduce the cost of the gowns. The gowns online are the same gowns from the same designers you will find in your local store and are coming directly from the designers. The gowns are authentic gowns NOT copies of less quality.
