Please Note: Be accurate when measuring, as all gowns are special order items and can not be returned or exchanged. The size to order is determined by your LARGEST measure­ment. (For example, if your bust measures size 6, your waist measures size 10 and your hips measure size 8, you need to order a size 10.) Do not take your measurements too tightly. Remember few people fit perfectly into a garment without some "customizing" to their body.

Sizing: Bridal and formal wear usually fits smaller than ready-to-wear. Remember is always easier to take a gown in than to let it out. To get the best fit MEASURE CAREFULLY and USE THE SIZE CHART. (NOTE: Each designer uses a different size chart so you won't be able to assume that a size 8 from designer "A" will fit the same way as a size 8 from designer "B".)

Measuring Guidelines:

Bust:measure around the widest part of the back, straight across the fullest part of the bust, NOT under the bust line. Please be aware that wearing no bra versus a strapless or regular bra can make a difference in measurements. Your bra size is NOT your bust measurement.

Waist: measure around your natural waistline which is approximately 1.5 inches above your belly button. Make sure you are not holding in your stomach when you take this measurement. Leave one finger under the measuring tape so that the tape can be moved. You do not want a skin tight measurement.

Hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips. Put your thumbs at your natural waist and rest your hands on your hips. The tip of your fingers should be the area to measure for your hips.

Extra Length: extra length is available for most gowns and should be strongly considered if you are over 5' 8". Please contact us if you have any questions as to the need for extra length.

Special occasion wear is NOT MADE TO MEASURE; they are cut to a size on each designer's sizing chart and are not consistent with ready-to-wear sizing. Each gown is standard size and standard length. Almost every special occasion gown requires some form of alterations. A local seamstress will be able to do the alterations for you. All gowns including fully beaded gowns may be hemmed, taken in at the side seams, or at the back. Often gowns must have the straps shortened to fit properly.
